Do dried-poppy pods (opium poppy) still have all the milky latex still in them?
I see alot of websites that say its legal to sell dried poppy pods from the papaver somniferum variety. Does "dried" mean only from the outside, but not inside, or does it mean dried inside out wtihout any milky latex present inside the pods? And if the answer is yes that they still have opium alkaloids inside, how is it legal to ship?? anyone with any knowlege on this matter?
Boiling poppy pods into tea is an easy way to take advantage of any remaining alkaloids. However it's impossible to know how potent each pod is. Thus it's difficult to tread the line between imbibing enough to get an effect without using so much you get sick. (puking every 10-30 min for like 18 hours) I don't think you could kill yourself like this but. . .
A strategy that has worked before is to use 2-3 pods and then gradually increase the dosage until you get the desired effect. but the potency can vary from pod to pod even in the same batch.
More often than not people wind up getting really high than really sick.
it's probably simpler and safer just to find a croaker.
