Lawn tractor mower starter jammed?
Mower wont start so I cleaned allthe grounds and contacts. Still wont start but now the starter smokes when the key is turned on. Is the starter jammed and ruined?
If it is smoking the starter windings are shorted out. The problem could be caused by
1 Locked up motor
2 Valves out of adjustment
3 Belt stuck to the drive pulley (not allowing the crankshaft to turn
4 or just a worn out starter
The duty cycle on a starter is not 100%
